Fraudsters advertise fake investments, promising high returns in a short time. They may ask you to download well-known remote access software so they can 'help' you set up or manage the investment.

As soon as the software is installed, they can take control of your device, access your personal and banking information, and even install malware on your device.

Stay safe:

• Never allow anyone remote access to your device for banking or investment purposes.
• Invest with FSCA-registered organisations only.
• A credible investment provider will never ask you for your Nedbank ID login or card details.
• If you’ve given access, disconnect immediately and call 0800 110 929.
