Browsers:
Latest versions:

- Safari (for Apple macOS)
Note: The internet banking website has been designed for the recommended browser versions and Nedbank cannot guarantee that it will work on other versions.
Nedbank takes stringent steps to ensure that only you (or someone authorised by you) can gain access to your accounts.
Here are some of the world-class security measures we've implemented to make Internet Banking completely secure:
When you first use NBB, enter your profile number and authenticate it by adding your password. For security reasons, you will then be required to create your unique password. From then on, whenever you bank via NBB, you must enter your profile number and password each time.
To protect your banking details, NBB automatically ends your online session if your computer is left unattended for more than 8 minutes. If you enter your password incorrectly 3 times, it becomes invalid. You must then visit your Internet Banking Consultant with your valid ID or passport and request a temporary password.
When confidential information (e.g. profile number, password, account details, and transactions) is sent over the internet, NBB encrypts it to protect it from unauthorised access.
What is encryption?
EEncryption converts a meaningful message or other information into something meaningless to those without the authority to view it. It also allows an authorised person to decrypt the message, i.e. to convert it into its original form. Encryption and decryption make it possible to pass messages between 2 or more people or computers without allowing anyone else to understand them.
What kind of encryption does Nedbank Internet banking use?
Nedbank doesn’t encrypt information that is publicly available. Your NBB session, however, is protected by the highest level of security, provided by an internationally tried-and tested encryption technique that is significantly stronger than the 40-bit-key industry standard.
Without being too technical, our technique is based on Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) standard, similar to that used by other leading international internet banks, that encrypts information between your web browser and our banking web server.
How do I encrypt my secure communications with Nedbank?
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later, Mozilla Firefox 2.x or later, Opera 8 or later, Safari 3x or later, or Netscape 7x or later (all that are SGC-capable), you can access NBB without installing additional software. These browsers supply 128-bit encryption to NBB, and 40-bit encryption to non-banking sites that require encryption.
How do I know when my communication with Nedbank is encrypted?
To verify the security of your connection, double-click on the lock displayed on the bottom right of the status bar. Click View to view certificate properties, then click General at the top. You may also view the other tabs that contain more information on the certificate.
If you want to be sure that you are on the real NBB site, look for our website signature, in the form of digital certificates. These confirm that you are connected to the correct site.
To use this facility always check the certificate to ensure that it is valid, as described above. Certificates must be verified on the NBB site.
How to verify the Nedbank Internet banking site certificate if you use a SGC browser:
To view a site certificate, select File, then Properties at the top of your screen.
You can also double-click the lock icon and select View to view the certificate properties. Select General or any other tab from the top to view different certificate data.
A firewall is a barrier between a sensitive internal network (as used by Nedbank) and the internet. Nedbank’s state-of-the-art firewalls protect our computers and your data, reinforced by other high-security measures designed by experts and continually reviewed by specialists.
Access internet banking by typing the full URL (internetbanking.nedbank.co.zw) into your browser. Never access the website through a bookmark or saved page.
Keep your profile number and password confidential.
Inform the NBB Helpdesk immediately if you think your personal details may have been compromised.
Monitor your accounts regularly for unusual activity and report any suspicious activity to the bank immediately.
Remember to log off and close your browser after banking online.
Install the latest antivirus and anti-spy software on your computer.
Do not open emails from unknown sources.
Do not respond to phone calls or emails requesting personal details such as your client identity number or password. Nedbank will never call you or email you with such requests.
Avoid doing your online banking on publicly accessible computers, such as those found in internet cafés.
