Monthly fees

A monthly fee for the use of your transactional account (even if you don’t use your account).

A monthly fee for access to an overdraft facility (even if you have not used your overdraft facility).

A monthly fee for having access to the self-service banking channels, such as the Money app, Money App Lite, Online Banking and Cellphone Banking (even if you don’t use any of these services).

You pay pay-as-you-use transactional fees for cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, top-ups, statements, disputed debit orders and other service charges.

Deposits

An electronic deposit or EFT is when a third party deposits money electronically into your account, eg when an employer deposits your salary into your account. There is no charge for an EFT. 

We charge a cash deposit fee when you or any person deposit cash into your account.

Cash withdrawal

Description

You will be charged a minimal fee to withdraw cash at retailer tillpoints, such as Pick n Pay and Checkers.

A fee you pay when you withdraw cash from your account at any Nedbank ATM.

A fee you pay when you withdraw cash from any other bank’s ATM (FNB, Standard Bank, ABSA, Capitec, etc). It is more expensive to use another bank’s ATM.

You will be charged a fee when you draw cash at the teller in any Nedbank branch.

A fee you pay when you withdraw cash outside of South Africa, at an international bank’s ATM. You may have to pay an additional charge for using the international bank’s ATM.

Payments

A fee you pay when you use the bank’s electronic or digital channels to make a payment to a third party.

A fee you pay us for processing a debit order on your account to pay for another Nedbank product such as a credit card, personal loan, vehicle finance or home loan. The debit order amount may be fixed or vary, depending on your service agreement terms.

A fee you pay us for processing a debit order on your account to pay for all other non-Nedbank services such as DStv, life insurance and a cellphone bill. The debit order amount may be fixed or vary, depending on your service agreement terms.

A fee you pay us for processing an instruction to debit a specified bank account periodically with a fixed amount and credit another bank account. The bank account to be credited can be in your name or that of a third party.

A fee you pay when you transfer money from one Nedbank account to another Nedbank account in your name.

Cheque and debit card charges

A fee you pay when you use your debit or cheque card to make payments at retailer tillpoints, such as Pick n Pay and Checkers.

A fee you pay when you use your cheque, debit or garage card to pay for petrol at any service station.

A fee you pay for a replacement debit or cheque card. 

A fee you pay when you check the balance of your account. You can check the balance at multiple bank channels, including branches, ATMs and SMSs. Getting a balance via any of our digital channels is free.

A fee you pay for requesting a bank account statement. You can make this request using multiple channels, including branches, ATMs and Online Banking. Getting a statement via any of our digital channels is free.

A fee you pay for buying prepaid products, such as airtime and electricity, on Nedbank’s digital channels, such as ATMs, Online Banking, the Money apps and SMSs. 

Other charges

A fee you pay whenever your debit or cheque card is declined at a retailer or other bank’s ATM because you do not have enough money in your account (insufficient funds).

A fee you pay when you send us an instruction not to pay a specific a debit order from your account.

A fee that we will charge you if you did not have enough money in your account for a debit order to be processed.

A fee that we will charge you for allowing a debit order to be processed on your account when there is not enough money to honour the amount. This service is dependent on your credit history with Nedbank.
