  1. You will receive an SMS from Nedbank on your registered cellphone number.
  2. You will be instructed to dial *120*001#.
  3. Select DebiCheck by entering the number 5.
  4. You will be prompted to enter the first six digits of your South African ID number to be authenticated.
  5. You will then be taken to the mandate menu (mandate means to give Nedbank permission to debit your account). where you must choose a mandate to action by selecting the applicable number.
  6. Once you have selected the applicable mandate, the mandate details will then be displayed. To view the next page, press *2 and send or to view the previous page press *1 and send.
  7. You will be prompted to select one of the following options: 1-Confirm/Authorise the mandate or 2-Cancel mandate.
  8. A message confirming that you have authorised the mandate will appear on your phone. You can select: 1-Authorise more mandates or #-Return to main menu.
