Terms and conditions
1. The promoter
Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 ("we", "us", "our"), runs this promotion. We reserve the right to make this promotion available to certain Nedbank clients only.
2. Promotion period
The promotion starts on 15 July 2026 and will continue until it is withdrawn or amended by Nedbank.
3. Who can and cannot participate in the promotion:
3.1 A participant (you, your) must:
3.1.1 be 18 or older;
3.1.2 have a South African ID;
3.1.3 permanently reside in South Africa;
3.1.4 be a Nedbank client (new and existing) with a valid Greenbacks-linked American Express® (Amex) Debit or Credit Card;
3.1.5 be a member of the Nedbank Greenbacks programme; and
3.1.6 ensure that your account is in good standing, which means that it may not be in arrears or have been handed over for legal collection.
3.2 Our employees (including temporary and contract employees and their spouses and children) or their associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the promotion.
3.3 The following persons may not participate:
3.3.1 SAA Credit Cardholders and Enterprise Line;
3.3.2 Nedbank employees (including temporary and contract employees); and
3.3.3 Nedbank's agents, contractors, sponsors, or associated companies.
4. How the promotion works
4.1 This is a digital behaviour-based cashback promotion with the criteria set out below.
4.2 Once you receive the first communication inviting you to participate, you will have four (4) months, calculated from the month of receipt of that communication, to meet the qualifying criteria set out below.
4.3 Participants may be incentivised based on one or more of the following digital behaviours:
4.3.1 Digital Wallet
4.3.1.1 Receive R200 cashback upon successfully adding their Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card to their digital wallet.
4.3.1.2 Spend a minimum of R3,000 per month for three consecutive months using their Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card via their digital wallet and receive R300 cashback.
4.3.1.3 Total Cashback: Up to R500.
4.3.2 E-commerce
4.3.2.1 Spend a minimum of R1,500 on e-commerce transactions within any promotional month during the campaign period and receive R250 cashback.
4.3.2.2 Total Cashback: R250.
4.3.3 Subscriptions
4.3.3.1 Load your first subscription onto your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card and receive R50 cashback.
4.3.3.2 Load a second subscription and receive R100 cashback.
4.3.3.3 Both subscriptions must remain active and billed to the card for two consecutive months, and the participant will receive an additional R100 cashback.
4.3.3.4 Total Cashback: Up to R250.
4.4 Participants must use their Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card and meet one or more of the qualifying criteria communicated to them as part of this promotion. CLM DIGITAL EXPANSION AMEX POWER UP PROMOTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
4.5 By completing the required actions within the applicable timeframe, participants qualify for the associated cashback amount linked to that milestone.
4.6 Qualification is based solely on meeting the set criteria communicated to the participant during the promotional period.
4.7 Definitions (for purposes of this promotion only)
4.7.1 For clarity and transparency, the following definitions apply:
4.7.1.1 "Subscription" means a monthly recurring payment arrangement charged to your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card for goods or services provided on an ongoing basis where the merchant automatically charges your card at regular intervals.
4.7.1.2 "E-commerce" or "Online Spend" means transactions made using your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card on online or digital platforms, including websites and mobile applications, where payment is processed electronically without the card being physically presented.
4.7.1.3 "Digital Wallet" or "Wallet" means an approved digital or mobile wallet service that allows your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card to be stored electronically and used for payments.
4.7.1.4 "Add card to wallet" means successfully provisioning your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card to such a wallet.
4.7.1.5 "Use wallet" means completing qualifying transactions using that wallet.
4.8 Rewards (Cashback)
4.8.1 The reward is cashback and is linked to a specific group, as set out above.
4.9 Cashback Fulfilment
4.9.1 Once a qualifying action or milestone has been successfully met and validated, you will receive the reward once Nedbank has verified your compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
4.9.2 The applicable cashback will be automatically credited to your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card account.
4.9.3 Cashback will be credited within 30 business days after Nedbank has internally verified your compliance with these Terms and Conditions and confirmed that the qualifying behaviour has been met.
4.9.4 If your Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card account is closed, blocked, or not in good standing at the time of fulfilment, you will forfeit the cashback.
5. General
5.1 By participating in the promotion, you acknowledge that your personal information required for this promotion will be shared with Nedbank and its agents, but only to the extent necessary to administer the promotion.
5.2 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the promotion immediately and without notice where permitted by law, where required by law, or for reasons beyond our control.
5.3 We, our directors, employees, agents, or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from participation in the promotion.
5.4 All information relating to the promotion, including information published on any promotional material, forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
5.5 By holding a Greenbacks-linked American Express Credit Card or Debit Card and being selected for the promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
