You can sign-up for Nedbank Connect on the Money app and Online Banking.

No, this service is available only if you have a Nedbank transactional account.

As an existing Nedbank customer, your full FICA information will be used for RICA purposes. All you'll have to do is confirm or update your physical address using  the Money app or Online Banking.

There is no cost for the card. However, there will be a delivery fee to have a physical SIM card delivered. Refer to the Money app or Online Banking to see the latest fees.

You can get a SIM card and be onboarded for Nedbank Connect at a branch. 

Lockers are not a delivery option yet but will be in the future.

Android

  • Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, the device is compatible. 
  • Alternatively, go to your phone's settings and select Connections then SIM manager. If there is an Add eSIM option, the device is compatible.

 

IOS

  • Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, the device is compatible.
  • Alternatively, go to your phone's settings and tap General, then About, and scroll down. If you see EID or IMEI for Digital SIM or Available SIM, the device is compatible.

 

We will send you an email with a QR code. To install the eSIM, you’ll need to scan the code, then follow the step-by-step guide provided for your phone model. 

 

For Android 

  1. Go to your phone's settings and select Connections then SIM manager.
  2. Tap Mobile service followed by Add eSIM, then Scan QR code.

 

For iOS

  1. Go to your phone's settings and select Add eSIM then Use QR code.

 

Once scanned

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. Enter the confirmation code sent via SMS (when prompted).
  3. Enter the SIM PIN (when prompted).

You’ll need:

  • SM-DP+ Address: A server address used to download your eSIM plan. You will find this on your eSIM mailer
  • Activation Code: A unique code found on your eSIM mailer or QR code.
  • A confirmation code which will be sent to you via SMS
  • The SIM PIN which you will find at the top of your eSIM mailer.

 

To manually enter eSIM details on an Android device: 

  1. Go to Settings then Connections or Network & Internet.
  2. Open SIM Card Manager or Mobile Networks.
  3.  Tap Add Mobile Plan.
  4.  Select Enter Activation Code.
  5. Enter your code and follow the instructions.

To manually enter eSIM details on an iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings then Cellular or Mobile Data.
  2. Tap Add Cellular Plan.
  3. Choose Enter Details Manually.
  4. Enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code.
  5. Tap Next and follow the prompts.

Log in to the Money app or Online Banking and navigate to your Nedbank Connect dashboard.

  1. Select Manage then SIM details.
  2. Select How to activate your eSIM.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions.

Alternatively, you can dial *136#, select option 7 from the menu and follow the prompts.

 

When the Nedbank Connect SIM is activated, you will receive a Nedbank Connect cellphone number.

Call the Nedbank Contact Centre on 0800 555 111 for help. If you don't succeed, we will initiate a SIM swap to give you a new SIM card.

Dial 135 for free from your device with the Nedbank Connect SIM, or call the Nedbank Contact Centre on 0800 555 111. 

Use the Money app, Online Banking, or USSD to top up your data. 

  1. Select Buy then Buy prepaid data, airtime, or SMSs.
  2. Select Nedbank Connect.
  3. Select the product you want to buy.
  4. Enter your cellphone number. 
  5. Select the account to pay from. 
  6. Check that your purchase details are correct. 
  7. Click Buy.
  • This could be a network problem, a SIM issue, or even a problem with your device.
  • Restart your device and check your APN settings.

 

For Android

  1. Go to Settings then Connections and select Mobile Networks.
  2. Select Access Point Names.
  3. Select the Nedbank Connect SIM.
  4. Verify the APN settings using this link: ws.nedbankconnect.mvno

 

 

For iOS

  1. Go to Settings then Cellular, and select Cellular Data Network.
  2. Tap Settings then Mobile Data and select Mobile Data Options
  3. Select Mobile Data Network (if applicaqble to your iOS version). 
  4. Verify APN Settings using this link: ws.nedbankconnect.mvno

  • Subscription mobile bundles are the predefined month-to-month mobile bundles that we preload on your SIM every 30 days. Find out how to select a preset plan here.
  • We will automatically debit the account you selected on the Money app or Online Banking to pay the monthly fees for your package.
  • Ensure there are sufficient funds in your account on the day.
  • You can cancel the package at any time. However, you have to do it at least 48 hours before the next anniversary or debit date.
  • Build your own is a customised plan that you can build based on your usage.
  • You can select the amount of data, voice and/or SMS bundles that suits your needs. Find out how to build your own plan here.
  • We will automatically debit the account you selected on the Money app or Online Banking to pay for the Build your own plan.
  • You can cancel the plan at any time. However, you must cancel it at least 48 hours before the next anniversary or debit date.

Your subscription and Build your own mobile bundles will not carry over. 


Example: The voice call minutes, SMSs or data that you haven't used by the end of the month will expire and not carry over into the new month when we preload your monthly subscription bundle.

  • Nedbank Connect clients can transfer their data to another active Nedbank Connect user only.
  • Dial *136# to access the Nedbank Connect USSD service.
  • Select option 4. Data Transfer on the menu and follow the steps.
  • If you use your SIM outside of South Africa, the roaming functionality is automatically disabled, and you will have no connectivity.
  • If you want to use the SIM outside of South Africa, you must switch on the roaming functionality and buy one of our prepaid roaming bundles to have connectivity. If you don’t do this, you will not have connectivity, and your SIM will be disabled. 
  • WhatsApp bundles can be used for WhatsApp messaging only.
  • WhatsApp video and voice calls will use your standard data allocation.
  • The streaming bundles can be used on various platforms like Netflix, Showmax, DStv, etc.
  • Subscriptions to the various streaming platforms are for you own costs.

  • Provide the cellphone number you are requesting the SIM swap for.
