Competition terms and conditions

 

1. The promoter

Nedbank Insurance, registration number 1993/001021/06, FSP Licence 41104 (we, us, our), runs this competition. Nedbank Insurance will advertise and distribute the details of this competition on various approved communication channels and make it available on Nedbank official social media pages only

 

2. Competition period

The competition starts on the 9th of June 2025 and ends at midnight on the 30th of June 2025 (competition period).

 

3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition

Nedbank employees (including temporary and contract employees), associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the competition. 

Nedbank clients and prospective clients can participate by commenting on the competition related post on Facebook and X during the duration of the competition using the hashtag #NedbankInsurance and must: 

  • Be 18 years and older.

  • Have a valid SA ID or smart card.

  • Reside in South Africa.

  • Be a registered user on Facebook or X.

     

4. How to enter

To stand a chance to win the prize, you must enter during the competition period:

Comment on the social media post by answering the question and using our hashtag #NedbankInsurance to enter. The specific social media posts will be posted on Twitter from 9 June 2025 to 31 June 2025. Each competition post will have a different question; however, the entry 

mechanic is for entrants to use our hashtag #NedbankInsurance to enter the draw.

 

5. The prize

5.1 Randomly selected winning participant will win one of five AVO vouchers each to the value of R500.

 

6. Selection of the winners

7.1 The random selection draw from the comments received that meet the competition criteria to select the winner. This will take place two weeks after the competition closure date generated between the 9th and 30th of June 2024 by commenting and answering the question and using the hashtag #NedbankInsurance.

 

7. If you win, the following applies:

7.1 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

7.2 You can only win once during this period.

7.3 Nedbank Insurance Communications will send Direct messages to the winners within 5 (five) business days from date of the draw.

7.4 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from the random selection.

7.5 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further.

7.6 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded. If you do not take up your prize, or if you reject or forfeit it (if you are forced to give it up because you do not meet a requirement), we will have a separate draw to select another winner in terms of this competition.

7.7 You must use the AVO voucher before it expires, and we will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.

7.8 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose when redeeming your AVO voucher or the experience.

7.9 We will not replace the AVO voucher or the experience if you delete the direct message you received from us and its irrecoverable or if someone accesses that email and use the said vouchers in your stead.

7.10 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else, and we will not replace it with cash.

7.11 We will not be held liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way.

7.12 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.

 

8. General

8.1 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition material, is part of these terms and conditions.

8.2 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are available on our internal intranet website throughout the competition period.

8.3 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting, and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.

8.4 By entering the competition, you acknowledge and consent that your personal information provided for this competition will be processed by us, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with the South African consumer and data protection laws.

8.5 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors, or sponsors as a result of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

8.6 We or our directors, employees, agents, or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
