Terms and conditions
1. The promoter
Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition. We reserve the right to make it available to Nedbank clients.
2. Competition period
The competition starts on 1 September 2023 and ends on 31 January 2024 (competition period).
3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition
3.1 A participant (you, your) must:
3.1.1 be 18 years or older;
3.1.2 have a South African ID;
3.1.3 have a Nedbank transactional account; and
3.1.4 ensure that your account is in good standing, which means that it may not be in arrears or have been handed over for legal collection.
3.2 Our employees (including temporary and contract employees), associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors may not participate in the competition.
4. How to enter
4.1 To stand a chance to win the prize, you must do the following during the competition period:
4.1.1 Buy any of the below MTN prepaid products via any Nedbank digital platform (Money app, Online Banking or Cellphone Banking).
4.1.1.1 Prepaid MTN data, airtime or SMS bundles to the value of R50 or more; or
4.1.1.2 An MTN 1 GB Everyday Treat Bundle or MTN Weekly All-net Voice Bundle (35 min).
4.1.2 Each purchase will give you one entry into the competition.
5. The prize
10 participants stand a chance to each win a Samsung S23 mobile phone.
6. Selection of winners
6.1 The random computer-generated draws to select the winners will take place on the below dates via Microsoft Teams and will be recorded. 2 winners will be selected during each draw.
6.1.1 9 October 2023
6.1.2 9 November 2023
6.1.3 8 December 2023
6.1.4 16 January 2024
6.1.5 9 February 2024
6.2 If you win, the following applies:
6.2.1 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.
6.2.3 We will call you on the cellphone number that we have on record for you within 10 business days of the draw date.
6.2.4 You can only win once and will be removed from future draws.
6.2.5 You must choose your nearest Nedbank branch to collect the prize. When you arrive at the branch, we will first verify your details before we hand you the prize.
6.2.6 We will try to contact you a maximum of 5 times. If we cannot get hold of you after the fifth try, you will forfeit the prize and we will choose a new winner.
6.2.7 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.
6.2.8 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition and we will not discuss the matter further.
6.2.9 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.
6.2.10 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.
6.2.11 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose.
6.2.12 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else and we will not replace it with cash.
6.2.13 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way.
6.2.14 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.
7. General
7.1 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition material, is part of these terms and conditions.
7.2 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
7.3 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za throughout the competition period.
7.4 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.
7.5 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.
7.6 We may extend, shorten or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors or sponsors as a result of the extension, shortening or cancellation.
7.7 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
