Terms and conditions

1. The promoter

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (“we”, “us”, “our”), runs this promotion. We reserve the right to make this promotion available to certain Nedbank clients only.

2. Promotion period

The promotion starts on 1 June 2026 and will continue until it is withdrawn or amended by Nedbank.

3. Who can and cannot participate

3.1 To participate, a client (“you”, “your”) must:

3.1.1 be 18 to 80 years of age;

3.1.2 be a South African resident with a valid South African identity number;

3.1.3 hold an open and active Nedbank Credit Card or American Express Credit Card, in good standing (not in arrears or handed over for legal collection); and

3.1.4 be selected and targeted for the promotion based on Nedbank’s eligibility criteria and receive a direct campaign communication inviting participation.

3.2 The following persons may not participate:

3.2.1 SAA Credit Cardholders and Debit Cardholders are excluded;

3.2.2 Nedbank employees (including temporary and contract employees); and

3.2.3 Nedbank’s agents, contractors, sponsors, or associated companies.

4. How the promotion works

4.1 This is a digital behaviour‑based cashback promotion with the criteria set out below.

4.2 Once you receive the first communication inviting you to participate, you will have four (4) months, calculated from the month of receipt of that communication, to meet the qualifying criteria set out hereunder.

4.3 Participants may be incentivised based on one or more of the following digital behaviours:

Digital Wallet

• Receive R200 cashback upon successfully adding their Nedbank or American Express Credit Card to their digital wallet.
• Spend a minimum of R3,000 per month, for 3 consecutive months, using their Nedbank or American Express Credit Card via their digital wallet, and receive R300 cashback.

Total Cashback: Up to R500

E‑commerce

• Spend a minimum of R1,500 on e-commerce transactions, within any promotional month during the campaign period and receive R250 cashback.

Total Cashback: R250

Subscriptions

• Load your first subscription onto your Nedbank or American Express Credit card and receive R50 cashback.
• Load a second subscription and receive R100 cashback.
• Both subscriptions must remain active and billed to the card for two consecutive months and the participant will receive an additional R100 cashback.

Total Cashback:  Up to R250

4.4 Participants must use their Nedbank or American Express Credit Card and meet one or more of the qualifying criteria communicated to them as part of this promotion. The participant will be rewarded with the applicable cashback in line with the qualifying criteria.

4.5 By completing the required actions within the applicable timeframe, you qualify for the associated cashback amount linked to that milestone.

4.6 Qualification is based solely on meeting the set criteria communicated to the participant during the promotional period.

4.7 Definitions (for purposes of this promotion only)
For clarity and transparency, the following definitions apply:

4.7.1 “Subscription”
means a monthly recurring payment arrangement charged to your Nedbank or American Express Credit Card, for goods or services provided on an ongoing basis where the merchant automatically charges your card at regular intervals. This includes, but is not limited to, digital streaming services, software subscriptions, fitness memberships, insurance premiums, or other similar recurring billing arrangements.

4.7.2 “E‑commerce” or “Online Spend”
means transactions made using your Nedbank or American Express Credit Card on online or digital platforms, including websites and mobile applications, where the payment is processed electronically without the card being physically presented. This excludes card‑present transactions and cash withdrawals.

4.7.3 “Digital Wallet” or “Wallet”
means an approved digital or mobile wallet service that allows your Nedbank or American Express Credit Card to be stored electronically and used for payments (for example, Apple Pay, Samsung Wallet, Google Pay, or any similar wallet supported by Nedbank from time to time).

4.7.4 “Add card to wallet”
means successfully provisioning your Nedbank or American Express Credit Card to such a wallet.

4.7.8 “Use wallet”
means completing qualifying transactions using that wallet.

5. Rewards (Cashback)

5.1 The reward is cashback and is linked to a specific group, as set out above.

6. Cashback fulfilment

6.1 Once a qualifying action or milestone has been successfully met and validated, you will receive the reward once Nedbank has verified your compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

6.2 The applicable cashback will be automatically credited to your Nedbank or American Express Credit Card account.

6.3 Cashback will be credited within 30 business days after Nedbank has internally verified your compliance with these Terms and Conditions and confirmed that the qualifying behaviour has been met. Cashback will reflect as a statement credit on your account.

6.4 If your credit card account is closed, blocked, or not in good standing at the time of fulfilment, you will forfeit the cashback.

7. General

7.1 By participating in the promotion, you acknowledge that your personal information required for this promotion will be shared with Nedbank and its agents, but only to the extent necessary to administer the promotion. Your personal information will be processed in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.2 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the promotion immediately and without notice where permitted by law, where required by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this occurs, you waive any rights you may have in relation to the promotion and will have no recourse against Nedbank, its agents, contractors, or sponsors.

7.3 We, our directors, employees, agents, or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from participation in the promotion, including any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs, or death.

7.4 All information relating to the promotion, including information published on any promotional material, forms part of these Terms and Conditions.

7.5 By holding a Nedbank or American Express Credit Card and being selected for the promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

8. More information

8.1 Nedbank’s decision on all aspects of the promotion is final and binding.
