Terms and conditions

1. The promoter

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition. We reserve the right to make it available to Nedbank clients, only. 

2. Competition period

The competition starts on 15 September and ends on 7 December 2025 (competition period).

3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition 

3.1 A participant (you, your) must:

3.1.1 be 18 years or older;

3.1.2 have a South African ID;

3.1.3 have an active Nedbank Money app user profile;

3.1.4 be a Nedbank consumer banking client; and

3.1.5 ensure that your account is in good standing, which means that it must not be in arrears or have been handed over for legal collection.

3.2 Nedbank Wealth app users, Small Business Service (SBS) clients and our employees (including temporary and contract employees) associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the competition. 

4. How to enter

4.1 To stand a chance to win the prize(s) you must do the following during the competition period:

4.1.1 Monitor our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram and X) or the Money app tiles and/or Push notifications, to receive the weekly clues shared by us;

4.1.2 Use these clues to unravel the Money app service and/or feature; and 

4.1.3 Locate and click on the service/ feature in the Money app. 

4.2 To locate and click on the service/ feature, you must have or open the relevant product to which the clues relate to. 

4.3 The number of entries per participant is limited to the number of unique logins (into the Money app) during the competition period. 

5. The prize(s)

Seventy-seven (77) Participants stand a chance to win the following prizes in the corresponding weeks: 

6. Selection of the winners 

6.1 A random computer-generated draw to select the winner(s) will take place on the following dates via Microsoft Teams and will be recorded: 

6.2 If you win, the following applies:

6.2.1 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

6.2.2 In the weeks where there are multiple winners, the prizes will be allocated to the winners in the order as they appear in 5 above. 

6.2.3 We will notify the winners of the Avo vouchers via an in-app notification, within 5 (five) business days from the draw date advising them that they have won. The voucher number will be included in the notification. 

6.2.4 If you delete the in-app notification with your voucher number and cannot recover it or if someone accesses your Money app and uses the voucher, we will not replace it. 

6.2.5 The Avo voucher(s) are valid for 3 months from date of issue apart from the grand prize, which will be valid for 12 (twelve) months.

6.2.6 We will notify the winners of Greenbacks via an in-app notification, within 5 (five) business days from the draw date advising them that they have won and that we will credit your Greenbacks account within 21 (twenty-one) business days from receiving the in-app notification.

6.2.7 We will notify the winners of the physical prizes via an in-app notification within within 5 (five) business days from the draw date advising them that they have won and that they will receive a call within 5 (five) business days thereafter to confirm their preferred delivery method (courier delivery or in-branch collection). In the event of courier delivery being selected, we will require your preferred delivery address. 

6.2.8 We will call the winner of the grand prize on the number we have on record for them within 5 (five) business days from the draw date advising them that they have won. 

6.2.9 Within 5 (five) business days from receiving the call, we will send you an in-app notification with your voucher number. 

6.2.10 We will try to contact the winners of the physical and grand prizes a maximum of 5 (five) times within a 5 (five) day period. If we cannot get hold of you after the fifth try, you will forfeit the prize, and we will choose a new winner. 

6.2.11 Avo Care will be valid for one (1) year from the date of delivery of your prize.

6.2.12 If you win one of the television sets, you will be required to present a valid TV License either in-branch or to the courier. 

6.2.13 You can only win one weekly and one monthly prize during the competition period.

6.2.14 If you win a weekly and/or a monthly prize, you will still be eligible to be entered into the draw to win the grand prize. 

6.2.15 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.

6.2.16 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further.

6.2.17 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.

6.2.18 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize. 

6.2.19 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose.

6.2.20 We will give the prize directly to you, or someone nominated by you and not to anyone else and will not be replaced with nor redeemable for cash, where applicable. 

6.2.21 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way. 

6.2.22 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.

7. General

7.1 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition material, is part of these terms and conditions.

7.2 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

7.3 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za throughout the competition period.

7.4 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize. 

7.5 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.6 We may extend, shorten or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors or sponsors as a result of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

7.7 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
