Terms and conditions
1. The promoter
1.1 The promoters of this competition are:
1.1.1 Nedgroup Insurance Company Limited (Registration No. 1993/001021/06), an authorised financial services provider (FSP 41104); and
1.1.2 Nedgroup Life Assurance Company Limited (Registration No. 1993/001022/06), an authorised financial services provider (FSP 40915)
1.1.3 (collectively referred to as “the Promoter”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1.2 The Promoter will advertise and distribute the details of this competition on approved communication channels, including Nedbank official social media platforms.
2. Competition Period
2.1 The competition starts on 8 June 2026 and ends at midnight on 30 June 2026 (“competition period”).
3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition
3.1 Nedbank employees (including temporary and contract employees), associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors may not participate in the competition.
3.2 Nedbank clients and prospective clients can participate by commenting on the competition related post on Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) during the competition period and by submitting an answer that includes the hashtag “#NedbankInsuranceDay”. Participants in the competition must at the time of the draw:
3.2.1 be eighteen (18) years of age or older;
3.2.2 have a valid South African identity document or smart card;
3.2.3 reside in South Africa; and
3.2.4 be a registered user on Facebook or X.
4. How to enter
4.1 To stand a chance to win the prize, you must enter during the competition period. Comment on the social media post by answering the question and include the hashtag “#NedbankInsuranceDay” to enter the competition.
4.2 The specific social media posts will be posted on Facebook and X from 8 June 2026 to 30 June 2026. Each competition post will have a different question; however participants must include the hashtag “#NedbankInsuranceDay” (or a substantially similar variation clearly referencing the campaign) when answering to enter the draw.
5. The prize
5.1 Ten (10) randomly selected winning participants will each receive one AVO voucher to the value of R500. Each AVO voucher will be valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue. The Promoter will not be responsible for expired vouchers and such vouchers will not be replaced or reinstated.
6. Selection of the winners
6.1 The random computer-generated draw from the comments received that meet the competition criteria will be used to select the winner(s). The draw will take place within two (2) weeks after the competition closing date.
6.2 Only entries received during the competition period that comply with these terms and conditions, including the requirement to include the hashtag “#NedbankInsuranceDay”, will be eligible for the draw.
7. Verification
7.1 Winners will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed their details, including compliance with these terms and conditions.
7.2 Winners may be required to provide supporting documentation within a specified time frame, failing which the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
7.3 Winners can only win once during this period.
The Promoter acting through its communications team will send direct messages to the winners within five (5) business days from the date of the draw.
8. Disputes
8.1 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from the random selection.
8.2 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition subject to applicable law.
9. Redeeming the prize
9.1 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.
9.2 If you do not take up your prize, or if you reject or forfeit it (i.e. if you are forced to give it up, because you do not meet a requirement) we will have a separate draw to select another winner in terms of this competition.
9.3 You must use the AVO voucher before it expires and we will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.
9.4 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose when redeeming your AVO voucher.
9.5 We will not replace the AVO voucher if you delete the direct message you received from us and its irrecoverable or if someone accesses that email and uses the AVO voucher in your stead.
9.6 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else. Further, we will not replace the prize with cash.
9.7 We will not be held liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way.
9.8 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.
10. General
10.1 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition material is part of these terms and conditions.
10.2 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are available on www.nedbank.co.za and via a link in the competition social media posts throughout the competition period.
10.3 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.
10.4 By entering the competition, you acknowledge and consent that your personal information provided for this competition will be processed by us, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with the South African consumer and data protection laws.
10.5 We may extend, shorten or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition, and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors or sponsors because of the extension, shortening or cancellation.
10.6 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
