Terms and conditions
1 The promoter
Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our) runs this promotion. We reserve the right to make it available to certain clients only.
2 Promotion period
The promotion has started on 8 October 2021 and will run until we withdraw it (promotion period).
3 Who can and cannot participate in the promotion
3.1 To participate in the promotion, you must be a Nedbank Private Clients or Small Business Services Client.
3.2 You cannot participate in this promotion if you are:
3.2.1 applying to restructure your home loan;
3.2.2 a juristic entity (including partnerships, trusts, companies, and close corporations); or
3.2.3 a Nedbank employee.
4 The offer
4.1 If you meet the qualifying criteria for main-banked clients set out in section 5, you will receive a preferential interest rate on your Nedbank home loan.
4.2 The discounted rate (main-banked rate) will be set out in your home loan quotation, which will form part of your home loan agreement with us.
4.3 If, at any time during your home loan agreement, you no longer meet the qualifying criteria or breach any of the terms and conditions of the agreement, the interest rate charged on your home loan will revert to the stand-alone interest rate set out in your quotation and will apply for the remaining term of your home loan.
4.4 The offer is available to 1 applicant per home loan application and cannot be transferred to an existing home loan.
5 Qualifying criteria
5.1 To qualify for the main-banked rate, your primary bank account must be with Nedbank. This means you must do your main banking activities with Nedbank.
5.2 To become a main-banked client you must do the following for the full term of your home loan:
5.2.1 Maintain your existing qualifying Nedbank transactional account as an active, funded account. If you do not have a transactional account with us, or if your account does not qualify, you have until the registration of your bond to open or change your account.
5.2.2 Have your monthly home loan debit order, authenticated as a DebiCheck debit order, paid from this account, and pay every instalment in full and on time every month.
5.3 If you have a joint home loan, at least 1 applicant must meet the qualifying criteria.
5.4 Qualifying accounts
A qualifying transactional account includes the following accounts: Private Bundle, Young Private Bundle (for young professionals), Private ONE, Young Private ONE (for young professionals) and Private Pay-as-you-use.
6 How the offer is given out
6.1 If you qualify for the offer, the following applies:
6.1.1 You will receive the offer only:
6.1.1.1 after we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions; and
6.1.1.2 if your home loan application has been approved.
6.1.2 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the promotion or if your entry has been left out from participation.
6.1.3 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the promotion, and we will not discuss the matter further.
6.1.4 All costs or expenses relating to the offer that have not been mentioned here are excluded.
6.1.5 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the offer.
6.1.6 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose.
6.1.7 We will give the offer directly to you and not to anyone else, and we will not replace it with cash.
6.1.8 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the offer resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if the offer is affected in this way.
6.1.9 We reserve the right to replace the offer at any time with another of similar commercial value.
7 General
7.1 The offer is available to Nedbank Private Clients or Small Business Services clients only.
7.2 You must comply with the qualifying criteria before the registration of your bond.
7.3 We may review and change the qualifying criteria at any time.
7.4 You will be liable for any tax payments due for any benefit in terms of this addendum to your home loan agreement.
7.5 All information about this promotion, including information that is published on any promotional material, is part of these terms and conditions.
7.6 By participating in the promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
7.7 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za throughout the promotion period.
7.8 We may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the offer.
7.9 By entering and participating in this promotion, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for the promotion will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for this promotion. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.
7.10 We may extend, shorten or cancel the promotion immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this promotion and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors or sponsors as a result of the extension, shortening or cancellation.
7.11 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the promotion, or for any accident, injury, harm, costs, or death that you or any other person who participates in the offer sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the offer.
