Terms and conditions

 

1. The competition

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition

 

2. Competition period

The competition starts on 19 September 2024 at 08:00 and ends on 19 September 2024 at 23:59. (Competition period).

 

3. Who can and cannot participate

3.1 To enter competition, all participants (you, your) must:

3.1.1 be 18 years or older; 

3.1.2 have a valid South African identity number; 

3.1.3 be a registered user on Facebook and Twitter/X (social media platforms); and

3.1.4 must be a registered attendee of the Nedbank IMC conference.

3.2 Regardless of meeting the criteria above, the following persons may not enter the competition: 

3.2.1 Nedbank directors, members, and employees (temporary and contract employees included), their business partners or immediate family (spouse or partner, parents, siblings and children, including adopted children, but not half or step relations).

 

4. How to enter

To stand a chance to win the prize, you must during the competition period, respond using #NedbankIMC2024. The top 3 users who use #NedbankIMC2024 the most will receive a prize. 

 

5. The prize

5.1 3 participants will stand a chance to win 1 of the following prizes based on their use of #NedbankIMC2024. The top prize will go to the participant who uses the hashtag the most.

5.1.1 1st prize – R10 000

5.1.2 2nd prize – R5 000

5.1.3 3rd prize – R2 000

 

6. Winner selection and prize award

6.1 The draw to select all 3 of the winners will take place on 19 September 2024.

6.2 The draw to select the winners will be conducted via Microsoft Teams through a random computer-generated algorithm.

6.3 If you win, we will call you or send an email via the contact details you have provided within 5 business days of the draw date.

6.4 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

6.5 You can only win 1 prize during the competition period. If your name is drawn again, your entry will be forfeited. 

6.6 We will try to contact you a maximum of 5 times. If we cannot get hold of you after the 5th try, you will forfeit the prize, and we will choose a new winner.

6.7 We will email the voucher to you at the email address that you have provided within 5 business days after we have successfully contacted you.

6.8 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.

6.9 If a dispute arises, our decision or that of the competition judges will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further..

6.10 You cannot transfer the prize, and if you do not take up your prize, give it up or reject it for any reason, we will have a separate draw to select another winner in terms of this competition.  

6.11 All other costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.

6.12 We will not be responsible for any delays in redeeming the prize. 

6.13 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that 3rd parties impose.

6.14 We will not give the prize to a 3rd party. We will give the prize to the verified winner only.  

6.15 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war, civil disorder, rebellions or revolutions in any country, epidemics, acts of terrorism, vandalism or sabotage, governmental regulations imposed after the fact, communication line failures, power and telecommunication failures, earthquakes, fire, floods or other disasters, and voucher expiry dates. We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible if the prize is affected in this manner. 

6.16 We reserve the right to substitute the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.

 

7. General

7.1 All the information about the competition and information that is published on any promotional material is part of these terms and conditions.

7.2 We, our associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from your participation in the competition or for any loss or damage, however arising.

7.3 We may ask you to consent in writing to endorse, promote and advertise any of our services without compensation.  

7.4 You may decline our request to use your details or image in marketing material or to participate in the marketing of any of our services. Your refusal will not affect the awarding of a prize.

7.5 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.6 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition, and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors, or sponsors because of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

7.8 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these competition rules. 

7.9 Where applicable, we will not be liable for any accident, injury, harm, death, damages, costs or loss that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.

7.10 We may terminate the competition immediately and without notice if we must do so because of legislative or regulatory reasons, and the participant can opt out of the competition. In this instance, their personal information will be deleted or de-identified.
