Distinguished Gentleman Ride terms and conditions
1. The promoter
Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition. We reserve the right to make it available to only clients and non-clients who participate in The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride.
2. The competition
This competition will be held at the 2026 The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride Events taking place at the Prisonbreak Market in Johannesburg (Johannesburg Event) and Fort Wynyard in Cape Town (Cape Town Event).
3. Competition period
The competition starts on 17 May 2026 and ends on 17 May 2026 (competition period).
4. The prizes
4.1 Johannesburg Event
One participant stands a chance to win a premium set of classic motor-cycle accessories valued at approximately R 18,000.00 (Eighteen Thousand Rand only).
4.2 Cape Town Event
One participant stands a chance to win one Avo voucher to the value of R 5,000.00 (Five Thousand Rand only).
5. Who can and cannot participate in the competition
5.1 A participant (you, your) must:
5.1.1 be 18 years or older;
5.1.2 have a valid South African ID on the day of the competition; and
5.1.3 be a member of this year’s Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride and participate in the motorcycle ride.
5.2 Our employees (including temporary and contract employees), associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the competition.
6. How to enter
6.1 To stand a chance to win the prize, you must do the following at your event:
6.1.1 Scan the Nedbank QR code and enter your details for the competition on the electronic form;
6.1.2 Complete your names and cellphone number(s) on a piece of paper to be provided and put it into the designated entry box at the Nedbank event stage area;
6.1.3 Accept these terms and conditions; and
6.1.4 If you are a verified Nedbank client, then you are eligible for two entries and non-Nedbank clients are eligible for one entry.
7. Selection of the winners
7.1 For the Johannesburg event, a physical draw and the announcement of the winner will take place at 13:30 at the Prisonbreak Market at the Nedbank event stage area.
7.2 For the Cape Town event, a physical draw will take place at 12:00 at Fort Wynyard, Cape Town at the Nedbank event stage area.
7.3 Winners must be present at the draw for each event to claim the prize. Winners will be verbally announced, and the winner’s name will be called out three times. If you are not present to claim the prize after your name is called out in terms of this clause, then another winner will be drawn.
7.4 If you win, the following applies:
7.4.1 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.
7.4.2 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.
7.4.3 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.
7.4.4 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.
7.4.5 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose during the redemption of the prize.
7.4.6 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else, and we will not replace it with cash.
7.4.7 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way.
7.4.8 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.
8. General
8.1 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition marketing material, forms part of these terms and conditions.
8.2 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za throughout the competition period.
8.3 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.
8.4 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.
8.5 By entering, you consent to possible photography/videography. If you win, you may be asked to partake in reasonable publicity (such as being photographed with your prize or interviewed), without remuneration, however you have the right to decline and should you elect to decline, you will still receive the prize.
8.6 We may extend, shorten or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control.
8.7 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
