The YouthX Awards are back – take your shot!
Enter the Awards and stand a chance to win big and kick-start your career goals.
We’re in the business of unlocking youth potential and doing what we can to help you go further with the resources, mentorship and tools that you need. As part of this commitment, we’re back with a rebooted version of the YouthX Awards – the platform to enter your business proposals, innovations and ideas for the chance to walk away with life-changing prizes.
Winning a YouthX Award means you enter the next chapter of your career with more cash, more resources and more expert support.
Who can enter the YouthX Awards?
If you have a valid South African identity document or card and you’re between the ages of 18 and 26, you can enter the YouthX Awards. You’ll also need to be a registered Unlocked.Me user to submit your entry.
How to enter the YouthX Awards
To enter, visit the YouthX Awards home page and follow these easy steps:
- Click on the I’m ready to submit my work button on the YouthX Awards home page.
- Give your entry a title and indicate which YouthX category you’d like to enter.
- If you worked with a group of people or another person, this is where you’ll give them credit. Otherwise, you can indicate that you worked alone, and that the idea is entirely your own.
- Give the judges a brief overview of what your idea entails. This is a summary and should not exceed 350 words.
- This is where you unpack your idea and show the judges sketches, prototypes, or any other examples that will help to land the concept.
- Allow us to save your work and see what it looks like in totality – in other words, how the judges will see your entry.
You can save a draft of your entry and come back to edit, add or remove supporting material as you go along – it will be submitted only once you indicate that your entry is final and that you’re happy.
What you can win at the YouthX Awards?
There are loads of amazing prizes up for grabs – and the good news is that you have multiple opportunities to win. The best idea in each YouthX category will receive:
- A cash investment worth R50,000 and access to a financial advisor.
- A Huawei tech bundle that includes a laptop, cellphone, FreeBuds and Watchfit.
- Mentorship for their business.
- Formalised training with an accredited institution.
There will also be an overall winner who will walk away with the ‘Changemaker of the Year’ title and these additional prizes:
- A cash investment worth R100,000 and access to a financial advisor.
- An Huawei tech bundle that includes a laptop, mobile WIFI, Matepad, cellphone, FreeBuds and Watchfit.
- Formalised training with an accredited institution.
- Mentorship for their business.
When will the 2022 YouthX Awards winners be announced?
The 2022 YouthX Awards winners will be announced at the YouthX summit in Johannesburg on Saturday, 3 December 2022. We’ll share more information about this awesome event and make tickets available in due course – watch this space!
