How does Greenbacks work?

There are four main goals to aim for every month. Each has at least one related behaviour in terms of money habits. Demonstrate the same behaviours each month to maintain your reward level and earn rate. Levels are calculated monthly based on banking behaviour. If you miss the mark, you still have a chance to get back on track the following month.

    Deposit your income into your Nedbank transactional account and set up at least two debit orders or make three money-out transactions using one of our digital platforms.

    Earn Greenbacks every time you use your Greenbacks-linked card to pay for purchases.

    Be rewarded for growing your money monthly in a Nedbank savings or investment account*.

  • Responsible Borrower

     

    Earn Greenbacks for paying your personal, vehicle or home loan on time every month, and make sure not to exceed your overdraft limit.

  • You must have a qualifying Nedbank transactional account to join Greenbacks.
  • Your income or salary must be paid into your qualifying Nedbank transactional account.
  • You must spend at least R5,000 on your card or swipe your card at least three times every month.
  • Make sure that you pay your loan instalments on time and in full every month, and ensure you do not exceed your overdraft limit.
  • “Money out” means money that you pay a third party, for example, a retailer or service provider using Bill Payments or buying prepaid airtime, data or electricity on the Money app or Online Banking.
